Tilbury LNG expansion project update: by the numbers
The Tilbury LNG expansion project is close to completion.
Since 2014, the Tilbury LNG expansion project has provided direct economic and employment benefits for the people of Delta and neighbouring communities. As the project approaches completion, and final preparations are underway to launch our new LNG facility, we’re reflecting on some of the positive economic contributions the Tilbury liquefied natural gas (LNG) expansion project has made across the Lower Mainland.
- Approximately one million full-time equivalent hours have been logged by local tradespeople between April 2016 and March 2017.
- More than 1,700 tradespeople were registered and available for work on the project.
- More than 115 apprentices have been employed on the expansion since 2014.
- Approximately 165 local companies from 12 Lower Mainland communities provided a range of specialized products and services for the project. This includes 40 vendors and suppliers based in Delta and Richmond.
