Burnaby feature businesses – Part 2
The growing Brentwood area is a thriving mix of residential and business development, close to Brentwood Town Centre and SkyTrain station.
Local businesses remained open last year while our natural gas line construction was underway along Lougheed Highway and lane closures were in effect. Our construction has now wrapped in the Brentwood area.
Here’s a snap shot of some of the great local businesses we featured during construction in the area.
For more than 20 years, the family-owned Ace Optical has dispensed quality designer eye-ware and contact lenses—along with personalized customer service—in Burnaby.
When owners Helena and Young Jun were forced to relocate from North Road to make way for a new condo development, they packed up their business and moved to the thriving Brentwood area.
Helena says the move has allowed them to continue serving their existing clientele, while providing them with an opportunity to grow their business. “We stayed in Burnaby close to a SkyTrain station to make it easy for our valued long-term customers to continue visiting us,” she says.

CuppaJoe Coffee Burnaby
When they opened CuppaJoe Coffee Burnaby in 2017, owners Monty Orr and Gord Schmidt had no doubt their coffee would be a big hit. After all, their company CuppaJoe Coffee Roasters was already well-known for its small-batch handcrafted coffees with complex, full-bodied flavours.
What came as a surprise to both of them is how quickly their humble coffee shop became a popular meeting place for locals. “We set out to create a place where people felt welcome, safe and comfortable,” Monty explains. “It grew from there. People can drop by alone and know that they’ll find a friend.”
Visit CuppaJoe Coffee Burnaby at 105-1899 Rosser Avenue, Burnaby. Read about CuppaJoe’s coffee roasting process and browse the food menu online.
We’ve created a fun, laid-back atmosphere where our customers really feel at home.
