Construction along Mamquam River FSR in Squamish
Beginning the week of March 9, crews will be installing a portion of new pipeline beneath Mamquam River Forest Service Road, just past the Powerhouse Springs Road turnoff at kilometre 4.This work is expected to take up to 4 weeks.Work will generally take place between 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday to Friday, as well as Saturdays 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.Single lane alternating traffic will be in place, and traffic control personnel will be onsite to help road users navigate around construction.Thank you for your patience as we complete this work safely, and as quickly as possible.If you have any questions about this work, we encourage you to reach out to the FortisBC team at [email protected] or 1-855-380-5784. Construction along Finch Drive and Industrial Way in Squamish
We are progressing construction along Finch Drive and Industrial Way in Squamish. Crews are now preparing for the next phase of work which will involve using a trenchless method to install the natural gas line.Starting the week of February 23, crews will begin building a construction pit on Finch Drive between Highway 99 and Loggers Lane, to support the upcoming trenchless construction.This will involve installing steel walls known as sheet piling for approximately three weeks, in front of the RCMP detachment.This work will generally take place between 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday to Friday, as well as Saturdays 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.Access to the Squamish RCMP detachment will be maintained from Highway 99 via a temporary entrance.Nearby businesses and residents may notice increased noise in the area.Once the construction pit is completed, we anticipate installing this segment of new gas pipeline beneath Industrial Way stretching from our property near Queens Way to the RCMP detachment on Finch Drive. Upcoming construction along Industrial Way
Starting the week of January 26, crews will be working along Industrial Way to carry out additional pre-construction activities to further confirm subsurface ground conditions.This work is anticipated to take approximately one week and will occur between:7 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday to FridaySaturday 8 a.m. – 7 p.m., if requiredDuring these activities, single-lane alternating traffic will be in effect along portions of Industrial Way.Traffic control personnel will be in place to help road users safely navigate around our work zones.
