Upcoming trail closures southeast of Finch Drive in Squamish

Further to the July 3rd update, starting the week of July 21, we will be temporarily closing the northern Connector Trail and a small section of four nearby trails, to ensure safety. These closures are anticipated to remain in place until late September. They will be reopened for brief periods when it is safe to do so.As work progresses, we will continue to provide updates in advance of trail closures in the area. We appreciate the community’s patience as we work to safely complete these activities.

Construction milestone reached in Coquitlam

We have reached a significant milestone for construction on the Eagle Mountain – Woodfibre Gas Pipeline Project. We are pleased to share we’ve completed the installation of approximately three kilometres of the new natural gas pipeline in Coquitlam’s Eagle Mountain area.Beginning July 11, crews will begin hydrotesting this section of the pipeline. This important, routine process ensures the pipeline meets the highest standards of safety, integrity, and regulatory compliance. The work is anticipated to occur over a weeklong period and will generally occur between 7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, as well Saturday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.Once hydrotesting is complete, final reclamation activities will begin and are expected to continue through to the end of 2025. For your safety, please avoid entering any restricted areas during this time. We appreciate the community’s continued patience as we safely work to complete these activities.

Upcoming tree clearing southeast of Finch Drive in Squamish

To create the workspace needed for our upcoming pipeline installation, our crews are progressing early construction activities further along the new right of way in the Squamish area.Beginning the week of July 7, we will be undertaking tree clearing and access upgrades on private property southeast of Finch Drive. This work is in support of Atlantic Power’s powerline relocation within the private property to create the space required for future pipeline construction.Work will generally occur between 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, as well as Saturday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.   This work is anticipated to last approximately three months.To maintain safety, in the coming weeks, as work progresses, a temporary trail closure will likely be required for the northern Connector Trail, and we will provide another update in advance.We’ve notified local recreational groups to help bring awareness to this work and inform their trail-use planning. We appreciate your patience as we safely complete these activities.
