Dust suppressant application on Squamish forest service roads
For approximately two days, beginning on May 5, crews will be applying a layer of dust suppressant to the Mamquam FSR, Stawamus Indian FSR and a small portion of Powerhouse Springs Road. During this work, traffic control will be in place to direct single lane alternating traffic as the product dries following application. We appreciate the community’s patience as we safely work to complete these activities.

Additional pre-construction activities along Finch Drive and Industrial Way
Starting the week of April 7, crews will return to Industrial Way and Finch Drive for approximately one week to carry out additional pre-construction activities to help further identify the locations of existing underground utilities. Construction of the new gas pipeline is tentatively planned to begin later in 2025.Work will take place between 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday to Friday, and if required, Saturday 8 a.m. – 7 p.m., and will include:surveyingelectronic roadway scanningusing water pressure (hydrovac) to identify existing underground utilitiesDuring the work, single lane closures will be implemented on Industrial Way and single lane alternating traffic will be in place east of Loggers Lane on Finch Drive. We will install signage, and traffic control personnel will help to safely direct vehicles around our work zones. Access will be maintained to residences and businesses. We recognize the disruption that this may cause, and we will make efforts to reduce traffic impacts to the extent possible. We appreciate the community’s patience as we safely work to complete these activities.

Update on construction near Valleycliffe and in the Ray Basin area
Preparation activities at our temporary construction laydown yard northeast of Valleycliffe are now expected to begin on April 7. See our March 18 update below for more details. Similar vegetation and tree clearing activities will continue northwest along the new right of way towards town as construction continues into 2025.In addition, beginning as early as the week of April 7, crews will start heli-logging in the Ray Basin area.Clearing will generally occur from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. Saturdays.For safety, minor traffic delays on the Mamquam Forest Service Road may occur and the area will be monitored by traffic control personnel.We appreciate your patience as we safely complete these activities.
